Greetings beloved Elysburg family and friends,

Happy new season month and welcome to the Lenten season! The season of prayer, fasting, and spiritual renewal.

I would like to thank you all for your commitment and in serving God in various small groups and the efforts and sacrifices for this church. As we approach the Lent season, the special time of reflection, prayer, spiritual uplift and preparation for Easter. It is an assurance that our church flourishes in Calvary love and service.

Let’s continue working on our Sunday school mission initiatives, so let’s continue to encourage our children and grandchildren to participate. It is possible for us to grow Elysburg young adult ministry; I assure you it’s possible.

Your unwavering support makes a significant impact in lives of many. Let us continue to share our spiritual gifts in this faith journey. It is a fact that together we can achieve great things.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to this church, the leadership, all committees and small groups.

Elysburg Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 10-11:30 a.m. All donations are appreciated and everyone is welcome!

January 22 - February 19
the Food Pantry served:

114 families and 243 individuals

Items always needed: Peanut butter, jelly (any flavor and squeeze bottles are fine), tuna, canned meat, canned fruit

Drive Thru with the Easter Bunny!

​

Come to Elysburg UMC on Saturday,March 21, from 10-2 for our 6th annual
Drive Thru with the Easter Bunny! 
 

Meet and take a picture with the Easter Bunny and get a goody bag to take home! 

Enter the back parking lot via W. Center to Maple to Roosevelt to the upper parking lot.
Watch for signs and helpers to guide you through!

It’s An Egg Hunt!

Following the service on Easter Sunday, April 5, we will have an egg hunt for the children
from the church!  Bring a bag or basket for the kids to use!

Clearances

 

If you volunteer at the church we would like to have your current clearances in file.  This is part of the UMC Safe Sanctuary policy that we must follow.  If you know it has been awhile since you have given us updated clearances, please do so asap so we can get our records up-to-date!

Sunday, March 8, Children’s Talk during the worship service

Children and Youth Get Together
Sunday, March 8, 6-7:00 p.m. at the church.
Pastor Fortunate will be making Easter cards with the kids to send to the shut-ins!

Sunday, March 8, the Girl Scout troop that meets at the church will be joining and participating in the worship service.

Prayer Patches

​

We will be adding “Prayer Patches” to the goody bags that are handed out at the Drive Thru with the Easter Bunny. If you would like to crochet or knit square “patches” for this project, here is the information:

3 x 3 inch crocheted or knit squares (approx. size)

• Any color

• Any stitch

• Leave a 4 inch "tail" at the end so that the square can be tied to the prayer card

The squares will need to be at the church no later than March 7.

**Pastor Fortunate handed out 31 Prayer Patches during  Drive Thru Ashes on February 18! To everyone who took time to crochet the patches and to tie the tags on, we thank you! **
